I have been buying, selling and training horses since I could walk. My Grandpa sold horses, as well as my dad and uncles. I have always had a love for both business and horses. I grew up working with, and pulling draft horses. When I went to Oklahoma for a summer after my senior year of high school to work for a cutting horse trainer, I discovered that I had a talent and love for riding saddle horses. I then attended college at the University of Wisconsin River Falls where I continued to buy and sell horses. I also competed with the college rodeo team for 4 years, I rode bulls, saddle broncs, and team roped. I majored in Agriculture Business. I also took some of the riding classes offered by the university, which I enjoyed, and learned from. I now enjoy competing in draft horse pulls. I still love to go roping, and start young horses on cattle.
I have loved horses since I can remember. I used to enjoy riding at a family friends during the summers and on weekends, whenever I got a chance to sneak away from all my sporting events. After high school I went to the University of Wisconsin River Falls. I studied Animal Science majoring in both Meat Animal Management, as well as Equine Management. I definitely enjoyed the riding classes the most, and feel that I learned a lot from my education that helps me to succeed in my daily life here at J & A Horse Ranch. I really feel that the colts in training program at the university helped me decide that I wanted to continue to ride, train, and sell horses. It gives me the most joy to find people horses that are the perfect fit for them. I now enjoy competing at Barrel races and rodeos. I also love team roping, and trail riding with friends and family.
